    The part most tools get wrong

    A plan that assumes deliveries arrive is a guess.

    Purchase orders run late. Most planning tools quietly treat an overdue receipt as though it landed on time, and the plan looks fine until the line stops.

    Here, past-due purchase order lines are folded into the current period and flagged, and the screen says plainly that the projection holds only if those deliveries actually land. When a material goes short, the shortfall carries the date, the quantity and the purchase order whose timing decides it. And when the lead time is longer than the time remaining, the product says that ordering today cannot fix this period, so the real options are expediting or a spot buy.
